Update Schedule

There was once an update schedule. It lived a good life, a peaceful life. A quiet life. But then... things began to change. It became more and more erratic, sometimes completely disobeying its very reason for existance. And at last, the update schedule could take no more. It cast off its chains and went free, seeking new lands where it would be appreciated. This message it left where once it had lived, to warn other schedules of the peril.

Review: Mini Shopaholic

Mini Shopaholic
Mini Shopaholic by Sophie Kinsella

My rating: 2 of 5 stars

2/3
It was better than the last one. Minnie's really cute... but only sometimes. Maybe it's because I'm American, but I didn't like the way she was written. Also, Luke gets way too freaked out. Anyone could see that she's a completely normal, healthy toddler and doesn't need to go to boot camp (of all the ideas they could have had...!)
I'm kind of worried about Becky. I hope she gets some therapy or something for the shopping next book.
Also, what did Elinor say about Annabel???

Review: Shopaholic & Baby

Shopaholic & Baby
Shopaholic & Baby by Sophie Kinsella

My rating: 2 of 5 stars

I really preferred the earlier ones. This one... it got a bit strange. I loved the end scene, though. They're such a cute family.

Review: Winter's Heart

Winter's Heart
Winter's Heart by Robert Jordan

My rating: 2 of 5 stars

Writing is improving. Pity the author will die in two or three books.
Yay Daughter of the Nine Moons. She should have had more free time. And the ending was weird (WHICH ONE'S WHICH???) But good weird. I want the next one. Now.
Also, Nynaeve's reaction when Rand says he loves all of them... I love her.

Review: Life of Pi

Life of Pi
Life of Pi by Yann Martel

My rating: 2 of 5 stars

I like it much better now that I've finished it. Because I read it for class, I don't really have all that much more to say about it. I wish I'd read it on my own. The exposition in the beginning goes on for way too long. The ending was quite brilliant. In between things went back and forth. The tiger is epic.
1 star for the beginning, 2 for the middle, 3 for the end. I've averaged it to 2 (~4 stars in reality. I'm trying to work with both my blog star system and the Goodreads rating system and I haven't quite figured it out yet.)

Review: The Sin Eater’s Daughter

The Sin Eater’s Daughter
The Sin Eater’s Daughter by Melinda Salisbury

My rating: 1 of 5 stars

So many problems.
1) Alchemy. You do understand that making gold depreciates it, correct? So, it's actually a pretty pointless endeavor, especially if everyone else got to it first and gold is pretty much valueless.
2) The plot. That was not a twist, author. That was destroying the only hope of a good book that you had. I spent half the book dreading it, and the other half bored.
3) The "love triangle". Allow me to laugh. I'm not sure I can go on typing for hysterics, honestly.
4) The ending. Really? That is so pathetic.

Gold star for effort (actually, it's orange, but whatever.) Otherwise I'd have given none.

Review: Evil Librarian

Evil Librarian
Evil Librarian by Michelle Knudsen

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Well, that was fun. I mean, the idea is better in Alcatraz. And Mr. Gabriel isn't my kind of villain. But it was well written, so the full 3 stars for that.

One Thousand Views!

I tried to do the math to average it, but Blogger claims I've been blogging for five years (I haven't had this email account for five years) so I had to give up.
In other news, Huey died a week or two ago. I did mean to write a post, but I'd already written that whole long thing, and all I could think to say was "my hamster died". Well, my hamster died. I'm not sure yet if I'll be getting another pet. I have one 40 gallon breeder tank with a mesh top, so if anyone has any suggestions that would be great.
So... that's all. Hopefully more book reviews since. And the Scholar's Plot one should be lengthened soon, I've just been short of time lately.
Oh, and I've been writing again (finally). There may be vampires. I couldn't resist. Maybe it's something every author has to get past?
